The Fulham Wine Rooms
Fulham's very own 'wine bar, restaurant and wine shop' opened in November 2010, right on the Fulham Road.
The bar area seats 35 around the bar and high tables, with plenty more space to stand, and spills over into an informal low seating area that opens up to the street in fine weather. It's a friendly and interactive environment to sample a large range of wines along with tapas-style bar snacks, including some fine Spanish hams hand-cut at the bar
The restaurant is comfortable and relaxed, and seats up to 55.
In addition there is a Private Room seating 20, where we hold regular wine classes and winemaker dinners, and which is available for hire at no extra fee.
Who are we?
We love wine, and all that's enjoyable around wine: good food, good friends, good conversation.
Our wine list covers some 200 different bins, sourced to give you a snapshot of what we like from around the world. At any one time you can sample 48 of those by the glass, armed with a pre-paid wine card, with or without help from our wine specialists. We also stock a selection of sparkling and sweet wines, beers and spirits, and our wines are all available at take-out prices for home consumption.
We design menus to complement the wines, using quality ingredients from suppliers such as Brindisa or Neal's Yard, fresh, well sourced, and simply cooked. We suggest wine matches for all menu items.
We have a brunch menu at weekends.
Quality and provenance
We think wines should reflect their origin: where the grapes are grown, and who has made the wine. We have wines from the world's most renowned estates, as well as exciting boutique winemakers. Whether it's an entry-level wine at £3.50 a glass or a Super-Tuscan for £45 a glass, we always try to ensure that the wines we show reflect their respective 'terroirs', and we tend to favour native grape varieties over 'international' styles.
We may not always have English wine, but our beers are brewed in Greenwich, and the Gin and Vodka is distilled in a little street in Hammersmith's Brackenbury village.
We take the same care when we choose our food suppliers; we want great food (think perfectly aged Scottish beef, British farmhouses cheeses or acorn-fed Spanish Jamon) to go with great wines.
